The Da Vinci Code [2006]

It's not surprising that I've come to love, not only the book, but the movie as well. Apparently, The Da Vinci Code is fiction, or so they say. But many people have come to conclude that most of the 'facts' weren't as factual as we were expected to believe. But to believe that there is a big mystery to our whole existence feels baffling... somehow.

The so-called malicious attack on Jesus Christ and the Church is, for me, unbelievably false. I mean, if I were a faithful Christian and believed in the utmost verity of the facts presented to me by the bible, then my unwavering faith would do me justice and not care about the book (which is presented to masses as fiction). The supposed cover-up, if it weren't true in the first place, what is there to cover-up? Oh god, (pardon the pun), but the Da Vinci Code was wonderfully written and one of the best stories ever written.
The movie, on the other hand, was wonderfully written and it brought to life, the characters and the symbols purported by the brilliant author. What's interesting is the vivid portrayal of the silas and the gruesome self-torture that he applied on himself.

Why is the church attempting to cover-up the story/book/movie?
It claimed that Jesus Christ had a sexual relationship with Mary Magdalene, the professed adulterer of the bible stories. The basis of the Christian faith was derived from Constantine, pagan rituals and such. The revered mother of the Church should have been Mary Magdalene despite her immoral image (in the Bible Stories) and finally because if everything stated above was true, then paganism, witchcraft, and other insignificant beliefs are more realistic than Christianism itself.

Test your faith. Take a time off and read the book or watch the movie. :)

Memoirs of a Geisha [2005]

Watched this on January 23, 2011.

This movie made me more in love with the Japanese culture. It made me appreciate the beauty and worth of a person.

My favorite parts of the movie contain the next lines:
1. "We do not become geisha to pursue our own destiny, we become geisha because we have no choice."
2. "Can't you see? Every step I have taken, since I was that girl on the bridge, has been to bring myself closer to you."

One of the best movies, ever. Just because the story is heartwarming and it's not melodramatic. It gives people like me, great insight to the lives of the private lives of the Geishas. Although the book was fiction, the story was realistic and insightful.

What i loved more about the movie was the accent of the characters. It gave depth of character (at least for me). The movie was detailed to the littlest details. The geisha make-up was realistic, i assume they were real geisha make-up. Sayuri's progress to becoming geisha was enthralling. It goes to show that Japanese culture take entertainment seriously. From food to people, art plays a big role in the culture.

That's why i love JAPAN! ^_^

The Fat Kid Inside

The Fat Kid Inside.

Erwan Heusaff is my hot and sexy. LOL. He's totally the boy of my dreams, incarnate. He cooks and he's got that preppy look that i love! Oh Erwan, i wanna love you.

Lots of love. xoxo.

Lion King:Hakuna Matata [2005]

After i watched Lion King 2, i was hooked. I've always loved the classics, especially the ones with morales, good humor and characters that i love. It was utterly beautiful, and i don't regret staying up late for this movie.

The soundtrack for this film is 10 over 5! I love Disney music, it always brings out the kid in me. (there's nothing wrong with that, i'm sure!) If you haven't seen this film, WATCH IT! It's hilarious, light, bubbly, entertaining and just full of laughs!

Grazing in the Grass was sung by Raven Symone. This song was played throughout the credits, and this song is FTW! Her voice is simply amazing and what i wouldn't give for a voice like hers. Take a time off and listen, it's totally worth the 3 minutes.

Simba's Pride: Lion King 2 [1998]

January 22, 2011 (finished the same day with Not Another Teen Movie and Dexter)

Disney movies always affect me in many ways, one of them is that it always makes me believe in love. I always get attached and tend to always find myself singing their meaningful songs. What's amazing is that, every time I sing myself a Disney soundtrack, in that moment, I believe in love and all it's senseless sacrifice.

Lion King was definitely one of my most favorite classic Disney films. I remember having a big crush on Simba, and when I grew up, I fell in love with Matthew Broderick, after my research, I found out that Matthew Broderick was Simba's voice actor! ahh.. love. Since I grew up and Simba became a father, I diverted my attention to a much younger prey. In Lion King 2, I find myself crushing on Kovu! This is crazy, I get crushes on every talking creature that catches my fancy. haha :)

Let's listen to my most favorite song in Lion King 2. "Love Will Find A Way."
Epic song. Epic movie. 10 stars.

In a perfect world
One we've never known
We would never need to face the world alone

They can have the world
We'll create our own
I may not be brave or strong or smart
But somewhere in my secret heart

I know
Love will find a way
Anywhere I go
I'm home
If you are there beside me

Like dark turning into day
Somehow we'll come through
Now that I've found you
Love will find a way

I was so afraid
Now I realize
Love is never wrong
And so it never dies

There's a perfect world
Shining in your eyes

And if only they could feel it too
The happiness I feel with you

They'd know
Love will find a way
Anywhere we go
We're home
If we are there together

Like dark turning into day
Somehow we'll come through
Now that I've found you
Love will find a way

I know love will find a way

Not Another Teen Movie [2001]

One of the movies that really doesn't have any morals but genuinely funny. I wasn't a big fan of the casting, but Chris Evans was intensely hot. He was my favorite character and honestly speaking, I only watched the movie because Chris Evans was part of the cast!

I will rate the movie a 4 out of 5 stars. It was entertaining, and good as a starter for movie marathons. This movie was actually a compilation of movies they spoofed, I've watched a lot of movies, but i wan't totally familiar with every one of them. Still, I enjoyed the movie just fine. :)

P.S. If you don't mind sexual humor with your parents, then i guess it's safe for family movie-marathons. :)

Dexter Season 1 to 4

This is one of my most favorite series. I love the concept. A mass murder that pretends to live a normal life with a beautiful wife, amazing kids, and a nerdy job. I was hooked! I couldn't stop watching and now i'm hanging by a thread, i'm currently breezing through the net, looking for season 5, but i just have to keep my eyes in my sockets. I need the complete season, it'd be soooo frustrating if i didn't finish a season!

Michael Hall (Dexter), physically, he's my type, but gosh. Every episode, i try to fall in love with him, but there's just no connection between us! I usually fall in love with a certain actor after a movie, an episode or something, but gosh, Michael Hall didn't impress me much.
